Gospel Discipleship is a process of helping people and churches discern what kind of disciple they are (Markan, Matthean, Lukan, or Johannine), and then helping them plan to grow in their discipleship in ways that make sense for them. It also helps Christians understand why we can all be so different and live our faith differently, and yet all be part of the same community, the same story, the same faith.

Author and Creator

Rev. Dr. Michelle J. Morris

Michelle is an elder serving in the Arkansas Conference offices for the United Methodist Church. Prior to that appointment, she served churches in Fort Smith and West Memphis, Arkansas. She is one of those lifelong students (and thus her secondary discipleship type is Johannine, which you will understand if you read the book), holding a Bachelor of Arts in English and French and a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature, both from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (Go Hogs!), and she has a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies with an emphasis in New Testament from Southern Methodist University (Go Ponies!).

She is grateful to be the author and creator of this process and these books, though she describes this process as definitely one that was guided by the Holy Spirit (and thus her primary type is Markan, and again you will understand if you read the book). What excites her the most about this work is that she has been able to see people suddenly grasp discipleship in a concrete way that allows them to then intentionally take the next steps forward in their faith. She has also seen churches suddenly understand why some things they tried in the past failed while some succeeded, and also understand how all these different people can work together better for the glory of Christ.

If you have any questions or comments, Michelle encourages you to send her an email at info@gospeldiscipleship.net.
